Irene Zevon
A daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, Irene Zevon began her career in art at 35 years old. She studied under artist Nahum Tschacbasov, also an educator and friend of the Soyer brothers, Rothko, Gropper, and others. They would get married and live in a loft in the Hotel Chelsea for over fifty years, ingraining themselves into the Chelsea art scene. A talented multidisciplinarian, her career highlights include creating a unique printing technique, crafting jewelry, and making Etruscan-inspired ceramics.
