Martin Rosenthal

Martin Rosenthal spent his career gracefully combining expression and abstraction. At the Whitney’s famous Modern Art Exhibition of 1934, his work was singled out by critics as a major highlight. He traveled to Japan, Spain, and Madagascar, before residing in New York City. Later in life, he painted for his own contentment. His series “Future People” functioned more as companions than art. They were never intended to be shown, only being discovered after his death.

Died 1974 in New York City, NY
