“As a painter of urban subjects, my style is to capture the cityscape with both intimacy and immediacy. My paintings are of subjects that engage me because of their color, shape, light effect, surface interest or compositional potential. My home and roots are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, College of Fine Arts, Department of Painting and Design. My career as a graphic designer upon graduation was interwoven with the pursuit of painting. Early on my main interest was abstraction, which evolved to realism as I developed an understanding of how to successfully use watercolor. Urban landscape painted en plein air is the major theme in my watercolor painting.”
